How to transpose a note pattern in a scale-aware manner
Here’s a quick tip on how to transpose an arbitrary pattern selected form a scale in a scale-aware manner (scalar transposition)
Summary:
1. Choose any scale from menu.
2. Press a number from 2 – 7, to activate scale-aware pattern shifting
3. Right-click notes in the scale to select (e.g. a chord)
4. Press ] or [ to transpose that pattern by the selected interval.
(The actual interval used to shift each note, e.g. a major or minor third, is determined by the scale and the positions of the notes relative to the scale tonic.
